I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oslo and a Research Fellow at the Centre for International Security at the Hertie School in Berlin. I hold a PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.

My research explores how new technologies are reshaping the relationship between states and citizens in contentious politics. I study both how states use tools like internet shutdowns, surveillance, and disinformation to suppress dissent, and how activists adapt their protest strategies in increasingly digital—and repressive—environments. With a regional focus on India and sub-Saharan Africa, my work sheds light on the evolving dynamics of mobilization, repression, and resistance in the 21st century.

At its core, my research asks: How do states and citizens compete for control in the digital age?
